$550 Clay & Seal · $699 Paint Enhancement + 7-Year Ceramic

The day you take delivery is the cheapest your car will ever be to protect. Factory paint is in the best condition it will ever be in, so the correction stage before coating is short — and that correction stage is where most of the cost of protecting an older car sits.

Why a new car is not already protected

New paint is not the same thing as protected paint. A car leaves the factory with clear coat and nothing on top of it, and by the time it reaches you it has usually been through transport film, a lot wash, and a dealer prep that frequently introduces the first swirl marks the car ever sees.

From there Houston goes to work: UV that oxidises pigment, hard water that spots every panel it dries on, and love bug season twice a year putting acidic residue on a front bumper that etches within days in heat.

What "the dealer already did it" usually means

Most dealer-applied protection packages are a sealant or a low-grade coating applied over whatever the lot wash left behind, often by someone paid per car rather than per result. They are typically sold at a higher price than a professional coating and last a fraction as long.

If you have already bought one, it is not wasted — we can assess what is on the paint and tell you whether it needs stripping and redoing or whether it is genuinely holding up. We would rather tell you it is fine than sell you something you do not need.

What we do on a new vehicle

A decontamination wash and clay treatment to remove rail dust and transport fallout, a single-stage enhancement to clear any dealer-prep swirling, then a ceramic coating over all painted surfaces. Because the paint is new, the enhancement stage is short — which is exactly why coating a new car costs less than coating the same car three years later.

Interior leather and fabric can be sealed at the same time, which matters more on a new car than most people expect: it is far easier to keep a clean interior clean than to recover one after two years of Houston sun on untreated leather.

New Car Protection FAQ

How soon after buying should I get a new car protected?

As soon as practical, ideally within the first few weeks. There is no curing period on modern factory paint that prevents coating it, and every week it sits unprotected is a week of UV, hard water, and contamination working on a finish that is currently perfect.

How much does new car protection cost?

Most new cars land on one of two packages. Clay & Seal is $550 — full decontamination and a five-year sealant, with no correction stage, which is genuinely all some new cars need. Paint Enhancement with a seven-year ceramic is $699 and is the more common choice, because it clears the swirl marks dealer prep usually leaves. Larger vehicles and add-on surfaces are quoted separately.

Is the dealer protection package worth it?

Usually not, in our experience. They are typically sealants sold at coating prices with a warranty that requires you to return for paid inspections. A professionally applied ceramic coating generally costs less and lasts several times longer. If you have already paid for one, we will assess it honestly rather than automatically recommending a redo.

Do I need paint correction on a brand new car?

A light single-stage pass, almost always. New cars very commonly arrive with swirl marks from dealer prep washing, and since coating seals in whatever is underneath, those need clearing first. It is a short job on new paint, which is why doing it now is cheap.

Can you do it before I take delivery?

Often, yes — several of our customers arrange for us to collect the car or meet it at their home the same day. Talk to us before delivery day and we will work around it.
